Newcomers

Welcome on behalf of Quakers in Cornwall!

If all of this is very new to you, I would like to give you an idea of who we are and what we believe.

Please look at the pages About Us which will tell you more and you will find details of where we meet in Cornwall
under Our Meetings. For more general information about Quakers in Britain use the About Quakers links.

There have been Quakers in Cornwall ever since our founder, George Fox, was wrongly imprisoned in Launceston Jail in 1656. The Cornish sense of fairness and sympathy for those in trouble led them to listen to what he had to say and the movement soon spread. Fox's message to follow the example of Jesus in our search for spiritual enlightenment is as relevant today, in this modern, hectic world as it was then.

Quakers are active throughout the Duchy, from Penzance to Bude. Come and see!
